It has been an interesting match for Hyderabad FC in the ongoing league matches at PJN Stadium in Fatorda, Goa. Goa’s David Williams scored the fastest goal in the Hero Indian Super League’s history, but Javier Siverio’s last strike ensured Hyderabad FC moved to the top of the table, resulting in a 2-2 draw with ATK Mohun Bagan.
Williams, who played ahead of Roy Krishna, who started on the bench, took a mere 12 seconds to make a goal before Bartholomew Ogbeche continued his goal-scoring spree with an equalizer in the 18th minute. While a goal from Asish Rai almost dampened the chances of Hyderabad of making it to the top, before Siverio made an unexpected goal.
With this, Hyderabad edged past Mumbai FC on goal difference. Now, both teams have 16 points from 9 games. Meanwhile, ATK Mohun Bagan moved to the third spot with 15 points from 9 outings. ATKMB managed a 1-0 lead within the first minute, with Williams racking up his record goal from outside the box. The team also suffered a setback when Carl McHugh had to be replaced just on the cusp of halftime after the Irish midfielder suffered a concussion and had to be taken off the field in an ambulance.
The second half saw Hyderabad put up a solid defensive. However, when it looked like ATKMB would scrape through, Siverio made sure Hyderabad went top of the heap with an opportunistic strike.
