Well, it’s that time of the year when every household will be in a festive mood with a whole of festivals lined up. Naturally, there will be a lot of celebrations, friends and family get-togethers. But one thing that is a pre-requisite for Diwali is cleaning up one’s house for Goddess Lakshmi to enter the house and bless the inmates. One of them happens to be city mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, who is busy wrapping up her work at the office, so she can have full four days to deep clean the house and make sweets.
She says she used to set aside seven days in the past and has reduced it to four days due to her present commitments. She reveals that she makes all the sweets for the festival herself, and no sweet comes from outside during Diwali.
Bollywood actor Juhi Chawla posted a picture of her enjoying deep cleaning and captioned it ‘Diwali Safai Abhiyan.’
She further says it’s time to get rid of all the unused, hoarded-up, one-day-it-will-fit-me, not-working-but-still-kept items. But she is not the only one cleaning up her house for the festival of lights. Just about everyone from celebs, actors, to government servants are deep cleaning their homes for the upcoming festivities.
Actor Sri Reddy is also busy cleaning the house, though she stresses that she is obsessed with keeping her house clean. She says festival time is not the only time she cleans her house. She says Telugu people mostly clean their homes for Sankranthi and adds that for her, just about every day is about keeping her home clean.
And guess what, the city socialites are approaching service providers like E-Wardrobe, who happen to be closet organizers. They say they have both pre and post-Diwali contracts. However, the foremost thing that everyone wants is to declutter their wardrobe to make space for festive apparel.
