Hyderabad’s Genome Valley will have yet another feather in its cap. The union minister of Culture and Tourism, G Kishan Reddy, has announced the unveiling of a medical research facility in Hyderabad on March 30, 2022.
As per media reports, it will be the biggest and most technologically advanced facility in South Asia. The facility will be formally inaugurated on April 1 by union health minister Mansukh Mandviya. The National Animal Research Facility for Biomedical Research has been built on over 100 acres in Hyderabad with the objective of focusing on health and family welfare.
The research center has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore. Also, the many institutes that constitute the facility have been built to industrial standards. The minister shared, “New medicine for people will be researched, as well as making vaccines quickly accessible. The facility will bring biotechnology, biopharma, and biomedical research to one place.” He added that it was an important step not just for the city but for the entire country.
The reports say that animal rearing at the facility will be on par with international standards and will be treated accordingly. The trade union minister also revealed that technologies for research were brought from various countries to make it an ultra-modern facility.
