On Monday, KT Rama Rao, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, inaugurated four link roads that connect key road stretches in and around the IT corridor.
The link roads that were thrown open for commuters include Miyapur Metro Depot to Kondapur Masjid Junction link, Nizampet crossroads to Hitex junction, JV Hills Park to Masjid Banda road, and Novotel Hotel road connecting the RTA office link.
Speaking on occasion, KTR said that so far, 16 link roads in Hyderabad were already developed and soon, six more link roads would be developed. Besides making it easy for people to commute, these roads will also reduce the traffic congestion in the city.
The MAUD minister also made a mention of the vital role roads play in the city’s development and spoke about the 133 link roads that were being developed in a phase by phase manner. Under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP), a series of infrastructure works were taken up with a cost of Rs 6,000 crore and HRDCL (Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited) is also spending Rs 313.65 crore for the development of 22 link roads.
