A ten-day lockdown has been imposed in the state of Telangana from May 12 to May 21, and according to the guidelines, many restrictions have been foisted on the citizens. Coming to the travelling part within or outside the state, any person who wants to travel has to procure an e-pass from the police station at the place of origin. For example, if a person is travelling from Hyderabad north to another district, they need to get a pass from the DCP office in North Hyderabad. And the person needs to get a pass from the place where the return journey begins to come back.
According to DGP M Mahender Reddy, special passes will be issued through the e-pass portal to those travelling to other districts and states. He added that passes would be issued only to those travelling due to emergency reasons. The concerned Police Commissioners and SPs have been assigned to issue passes to those who want to travel.
Those coming to Telangana from other states, however, will have to procure passes from the state where the journey begins. A person travelling from Maharashtra to Hyderabad, for instance, has to procure a pass from Maharashtra.
In his statement, Hyderabad Commissioner Anjani Kumar said that in a matter of just a few hours, the e-portal started by the police received more than 7,000 applications for travel passes.Anjani Kumar specified that there are some exempted categories, like medical and essential services, etc. If someone is a patient's attendant, keep the hospital's attendant pass or a prescription, and then he/she will be allowed to travel.

The Commissioner also said that anyone transporting essential goods, including food grains, food items, dairy products, construction items, fertilisers, seeds, etc., will be exempted from the lockdown restrictions.
The Commissioner said, "On the windscreen of the vehicle, stick an A4 sheet of paper with the name of items being transported; then you won't need to secure a separate pass."
