In a tragic incident on Tuesday, a hotel worker Liaqat Ali Khan was killed in Malakpet after being hit by a speeding car when he was trying to cover a pothole for the safety of people.A resident of Dabeerpura's Ghousia Masjid, Liaqat, was working at the Sohail hotel. On the night of Tuesday, he saw a pothole in front of his hotel, and being a good Samaritan; he went to cover it. He was putting up barricades to prevent commuters from falling into it who were going that way.According to the police, while he was trying to cover the pothole, a speeding car hit him, which flung him into the air and fell a few feet away on the road. The car driver fled from the scene. Liaqat was shifted to a hospital, where he was declared dead.A case was registered, and the police are checking the CCTV footage to trace the car number plate and the driver who committed the drastic act.

He also asked the public to eat warm food during the rainy season.&nbsp;&nbsp;Mr. Rao also advised the public to avoid street food and also requested the street vendors to boil water before serving the fast food to the customers.Rao blamed Pani Puri for many typhoid cases being reported across the city. He said typhoid could be called "the Pani Puri Disease" and advised people to avoid it and other street food during the current rainy season to protect themselves from typhoid and other seasonal ailments.The health department also released the statics on dengue. Reportedly, this year a total of 1184 dengue cases are reported in Telangana, out of which 516 are from Hyderabad.Reports read as, in June month 565 dengue cases are reported following 222 cases till date in July. The health department reports suggest that 144 dengue cases have been reported from Hyderabad this month, which is a warning bell.

Continued rains have led to overflowing drains and inundation of roads, throwing vehicular traffic out of gear in some areas.Colleges and schools remain closed for the second day as the TS government declared a 3-day holiday for all educational institutions because of the rains.Following heavy rains across the state, the Hussain Sagar was receiving abundant inflows, and the water level on Tuesday crossed the lake's full tank level (FTL). The water level in the Hussain Sagar was recorded at 513.44 m against the FTL of 513.41 m. The maximum water level of the lake is 514.75 m.The Lakes wing of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is closely monitoring the water levels in the Hussain Sagar and updating the situation of the Revenue and Irrigation departments. At the other lakes in the city, safety measures are also being taken by the GHMC.The release of water from Himayat Sagar and Osman Saga reservoirs continued. Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board have kept open two doors reach of the reservoirs up to one foot to let out water into the Musi River.Alerts have been issued to the people living in the river bed and the residential areas along the river's course.

The Narcotics Enforcement Wing has handed over the accused to SR Nagar police for further investigation.SR Nagar police and the Narcotics Enforcement Wing conducted a raid, acting on a tip-off, and nabbed the peddlers.According to police, prime members of the drug racket gang, Balaji from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh and Naveen from Chennai, are absconding.The police also said that Bala Manikanta (30) of Gachibowli, Patta Joseph (22), a resident of Shaikpet, Chintala Sairam (24), Samantha Rao (24) of Kondapur, and Akhil Kumar (26) have been taken into custody from Madhuranagar and are being investigated, and sixteen drug abusers were absconding.
